Chelti preserves ancient winemaking traditions by producing wines in clay jars (Qvevri), a technique recognized by UNESCO as the world’s oldest winemaking method, dating back 8,000 years.
Alongside this traditional approach, Chelti also employs modern methods using stainless steel and French oak barrels. The wine storage facility is located 7 meters (25 feet) below ground. Within this meticulously crafted vault, Chelti stores the largest reserve stock of Saperavi in Georgia, and potentially the world, benefiting from optimal aging conditions.
