Georgia is the birthplace of wine, and the Qvevri, a large egg-shaped clay vessel buried underground, is its most sacred symbol. This 8,000-year-old method produces wines of remarkable complexity and character.
UNESCO recognized the Qvevri winemaking method as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and at Chelti, we continue this living tradition with the same reverence as our ancestors.
Georgia's Largest Wine Vault
Our underground vault houses rows of Qvevri buried seven meters below the surface, where temperatures naturally maintain 12–16°C year-round. The perfect environment for slow, gentle fermentation.
In these silent chambers, time and nature work together to transform grapes into wines of extraordinary depth and purity.
Building a Legacy
Since our first vintage in 2007, we have built a reserve of over 150,000 bottles. With our new cellar currently under construction, we'll soon be able to age up to 350,000 bottles at the same time.
